Week 16 – ATP 500 Barcelona and ATP 250 Bucharest Outright Tip

Last week outright tips did not perform as expected. Dimitrov was disappointing and grumpy Murray scrapped through to the semi final where he lost to a resurgent Nadal.

ATP  500 Barcelona

Nadal has some of his clay court mojo back. However, I do not expect him to dominate the clay court season as he used to do in his heyday. He will have to be more selective and his clay court season will have Roland Garros as it’s absolute focal point now he is approaching top form to have a real shot at a 10th RG title.

Kei Nishikori bottom half of the draw looks straight forward. He practised already with Cuevas today and Cuevas seems the only serious contender in the bottom half. Nishikori is playing very well this year and he won Barcelona twice in a row and did not play in Monte Carlo to be fully ready for Barcelona and later Madrid Masters. Each way value is great at 5.5 as I expect a final berth and I like his chance against Nadal in a possible final.

Kei Nishikori – Each Way – €10 Each Way available at NetBet at 5.50.

ATP 250 Bucharest

Very open draw. Top two seeds Tomic and Karlovic not in good shape and no clay court type players. This makes it interesting for an upset winner. Damir Dzumhur is an outsider who is playing his best tennis and he plays with such confidence that he beat Berdych in Monte Carlo. The quality of opponents in Bucharest have been easily dispatched by Dzunhur recently in the likes of Lorenzi, Haase and Kukushkin. He is still available at 17.00.

Damir Dzumhur – Each Wat – €10 Each Way available at Stan James at 17.00.
