Week before the second grand slam of the year our outright tips have been no success. Wawrinka showed he was up for it in Geneva after the second round and at that point was the clear favourite. In Nice, Thiem remarkably won the tournament for the second time and we ended with no outside winners.
On to the French Open where there are three clear favourites in Djokovic, Murray and Nadal, while Wawrinka again a dark horse for the title. There is little doubt for me after the draw took place that we will see Djokovic versus Murray in the final. They have shown to be the most consistent on the clay this spring and are a cut above the rest. Murray will have to get passed Nishikori and likely Wawrinka, while Djokovic will cruise into the semis where he will possibly clash with Nadal, who he will surely beat.
With Murray at it against Djokovic again, I do like his chances with all pressure on Djokovic to win his elusive grand slam title.
